Many of us sort of feel that God, like a human has a number of desires, so we can simply do them, and all will be well, for spiritually or physically or both, the truth is God has only one desire and its to unite with us and unity is a state

when two become one and if it is a unity which occurs within the time space dimension (our world) then like a marriage, it is either constantly getting better or constantly getting less, hence we don’t have a few desires to fulfill we are married to God and in any given situation listening to him – meaning, being, good, loving, compassionate, and kind is how we bond!
