Many are indecisive in terms of what Rabbis are meant to do particularly as leaders of Jewry in a time when most Jews are brought up secular – some groups closed themselves off – the Rebbe uniquely innovated outreach but even in outreach what exactly is the goal? – the truth is, if we look at what God’s purpose in “life” is, it all becomes pretty simple, for as the Rebbe teaches, God specifically brought up most Jews in our generation secular, for the benefit of Teshuvah – discovering God – hence loving God, surpasses the benefit of being brought up and having a sense of fear from God!
