Each and every one of us will live our whole life (which may be forever – as we actually predate our earthly time and will consciously outdate it.)

Perhaps the deepest question is, who are we?

Am I my hand?

If I lose my hand, I am still me?

Which part of me, if I lose that; I no longer am me?

Well, when I go to sleep, I sort of lost my mind – my body is exactly like before (perhaps I’m even more calm) but somehow it’s not me.

So it is fair to say that the one part of us that is truly us, is our mind.

But then we must ask a deep question – is my mind the part of me that is thinking, or the part of me that has thought – The difference is – is the way I feel now, which is my current thinking, representative of me; or is the way I felt before?

In answer, the truth is we are our hard core beliefs.

For example, I am a Jew – if you ask me what am I thinking about right now, it may be that I am thirsty – but if you ask me, who are you? I would certainly say, I am a Jew.

So to me, being a Jew is very much part of my identity.

That’s a critical word:

From how we see ourselves, from who we think we are.

What makes me have this hard drive belief that I am a Jew? – well I know someone who is Mennonite (a form of Christian like Amish) but her father would keep all the Jewish practices, and until the age of sixteen she thought she was Jewish.

Well, my parents kept all the Jewish practices, so without anyone telling me I am Jewish, I knew, that is my family.

Now this most important -we often don’t realize, that as we grow and experience our identity, though built on a foundation, for example, male, Jewish, Chabad, Wineberg (etc. in my case) is all there; other core beliefs begin to be reevaluated – We often identify with our country – but as we go through time, we begin to think: is the perceived beliefs of my countrymen correct? – we may ask, if my religion is correct? – eventually we settle (for better or worse) on our core beliefs.

The collection of all those beliefs, which we call your identity is who you are – it is the subconscious hard-drive – so just as your current RAM – the screen might be using a game; it is all the apps, the docs, the pictures, all those things you truly were into, and downloaded, and saved, that form who you are.

But the most important part of who you are is not who you are, rather who you are – you see, the very first words the Creator of you and your identity (for your identity was shaped by circumstances and those circumstances was shaped by the Creator) told Abraham, the first intellectual– “to become you – your truest potential, you must leave your current hard core beliefs” – you see, every single belief you have about who you are is wrong – for the mind as the Baal Shem Tov and Einstein teach think in a time space dimension (If I ask you to remember something or an event, you fit it into a time-space capsule) but what if the beauty of who you are, like a computer with infinite data, is you can always become something new! – now this doesn’t mean, you forget your past – that is your foundation, and often it is true – rather it means, like the foundation of a building built so solid that you can always put on top of it another layer! – so never be afraid – Fear nothing, Fear no one (as fear traps you in some little identity) Learn, Seek, Embrace, Engage, and always remember, As You Come From The Source Which Has No Limit, There Are No Levels.
