Why is it that Adam who was originally meant to live forever was told, the day he ate from the tree of knowledge he will die?
The answer is that eating from the tree of knowledge was the integration of evil (he looked into the realm of evil – and unfortunately by nature, as a human is attracted – hence he was attracted and therefore as the soul is basically the combination of attractions, hence evil entered, and if he would now live forever, so would evil.)
In a sense the task of man hence is to separate between light and darkness, good and bad, kind and cruel.
When Moshiach comes, even Tzaddikim whose bodies are intact for thousands of years (as we know, the bodies of Tzaddikim, don’t disintegrate, their bodies (as will everyone return to the dust/earth – and a new body (of light) (as Adam was before the sin) will be born.
This is in order that there shall be an elimination of any vestige of evil.
