Living in the cloud – one of the fascinating metaphors for the presence of Go-d which continually descends on the Mishkan (the Tabernacle) to speak to Moses is that of a cloud – it seems to me there are essentially only three ways to live – the first is instinctive – like any animal, life can be the all-encompassing equation “can I?” (as an animal is instinctively attracted to pleasure and recoils from pain – there is very little conscience) the second is “should I?” – this is what Judaism brought to the world – ethics, morality, kindness – but then there is the messianic wavelength in which Go-d in an intricate dance, mainly through Divine hints (hashgochoh pratis) merges
