Lilith

The commentators tell us about Lilith
Don’t know all that much, but the little I do has a profound teaching
Essentially, before Adam had Eve (Adam had Chavah) there was prototype A., Lilith; now Lilith wanted Adam to be her wife – in other words, she wanted the dominant leadership role!
Obviously, in all relationships, there is what is called the mashpia and mikabel, the dominant giver and the humbler receiver.
But if we look Kabbalistickly into this story, there is more than meets the eye.
For in fact, Kabbalah teaches us, that Chavah (eve) knew exactly what she was doing; not only was she not mistaken in any of her actions, even the eating of the forbidden fruit; she discerned (as it states by all sins, “It was a ploy by God” – to bring about a greater revelation later) that God wanted them to descend from their heights!
Effectively, God created the world in such a way, that men have a much harder time in discerning right and wrong than women.
A cursory look at history, clearly shows this to be the case.
Hence the righteous woman – Eve not Lilith – is one who happily fulfils her role to guide her husband – supporting his choices to be the right one! Sent via my BlackBerry from Vodacom – let your email find you!
