Reih
When Hashem gave us the Torah, it states “I am your God,” in other words, the highest level of God permeated us (to those who seek.)
The sinners are always thinking about repentance – for our connection to God, is our essence.
This essential will to be connected to Hashem is higher than intelligence – it’s just a very simple strong Jewish desire.
When Moshaich comes, this will, will be the revealed will, in every Jew – it’s only now that the Yetzer Hara can conceal it.
Because the Yidden were the primary thought/creation of Hashem, therefore this will is their essence.
A Yid has to think deeply into the greatness of Hashem – this leads to a great love of Hashem.
In truth, every Yid must have both the core desire to listen to Hashem (beyond his intellect) together with the understanding of Hashem’s greatness – only the two together keep a Yid.
Chochmah is like the candle, binah is like the room – in order for a person to have benefit, there must both be the light as well as the space – in other words, a person both has to have the faith of Chochmah (beyond intellect – this is “who I am”) and also the faith of binah (the deep comprehension that leads to intellectual awareness, hence emotional love.)
The vov (the previous two meditations are the yud and the hei of God’s name) then takes this emotional love and transforms us, from being animalistic to spiritual.
Then we have the last hei – which is that our thoughts, speech and actions, become transformed.
This is the notion of receiving the Torah, when God gave us His name.
This is also what it means, that a child in the mother’s womb – a candle is burning over his head, and the entire Torah is taught to him – that he receives these four dimensions, so later it will come easier.
2. In Galus, as we have foolish (lustful or materialistic) desires, this conceals, that though we may have a deep comprehension of God, it translates not (to emotional desires, for our desires are elsewhere.)
This is what it states: the Jews will be redeemed through Teshuvah.
Why does it say, that in the times of Moshiach, God will circumcise the heart’s foreskin? (these desires of foolish pursuits, that block the inherent love for God.) For does it not command us to “circumcise our hearts foreskin.”?
The answer is, that there are two layers – a person may be able to attain a love born of comprehension (thus a love is revealed) but to get to the very essence – a love that say is so deep, like it is the desire for life itself – this is a gift.
3 This is why during Galus we pray – Yehei Shimei Rabbah – that God’s name should be glorified – to rectify the Yud, Hey.
In other words, to have the humility to God, until his name transforms our emotions.
And from there to the three garments of thoughts, speech, and action.
We dedicate our thoughts and speech and actions to God through the thoughts and speech and actions of Torah.
Summary
When we got the Torah, God came to each of us internally.
