Light and shadows

An artist uses primarily two concepts to portray a masterpiece – light and shadows

You could ask – if light is what we want – shouldn’t we just paint light – but without the contrast of the shadows, all light would be an indistinguishable oneness

I once asked a great photographer how come black and white have so much power and he said because of the contrast
