Life is really really simple – you see, we strive for perfection only when our perception is that we need self-protection – if we are in an environment where everyone loves us – say the youngest child – (and to some extent as we see in America) we don’t feel the need – Conversely this lack of negative motive can also lead to laziness and complacency – so the reason God created jealousy, for it is the thorns that tear into the rose, which releases its fragrance
