Life is not a journey, for a journey implies a trip, rather life is like the Jews in the desert

Did they journey? not really; they lived and died in the desert.

But did they not achieve anything?

They certainly did!

So is life a journey or not?

The answer is, that life is neither a journey nor is it not a journey!

For what we think of is always in corporeal terms.

We see people advancing materially or perhaps in fame.

That is not life!

Rather, life is to spiritually advance.

Like the Jews wandering the desert for forty years.

You are journeying, but it isn’t towards a greater physical, rather spiritual destination.

Just like in the desert God was the captain of the ship, literally a cloud from God would lift up and guide the Jews along their forty two year (actually forty year, but forty two stops) lifelong journey, similarly it is clearly God himself who guides you and I, towards our experiences, shaping our beliefs, increasing our knowledge, hence reverence, awe and love for God.

What is the greatest journey of life – the forty two stops of the Jewish people themselves – perhaps the very experience of being within the gentiles cultures, having lived as we had during exile throughout all gentile’s cultures, and discovering the grass is greener on our own beloved culture.
