The foundational book of how God created man has a very important statement about man, “there is no higher than pleasure, and there is no lower than pain!”
In other words, hidden in this simple statement, we can discern, well, just about all that humans strive for and avoid!
However, what happens if I God forbid am in pain but I don’t see you in pain? in fact, I see you in pleasure! I become jealous!
A famous study put four monkeys in a cage with bananas in the middle and whenever they would try to get the bananas they would be sprayed with water which they hate!
Then they introduced a new monkey and allowed him to take the bananas, well you know what happened, the other monkeys got angry that he was in pleasure while they were in pain so they would beat him up!
Similarly, those people who have had their hearts broken through abuse become jealous of those people who haven’t, hence antisemitisim and current “self hating Americans” anti-americans, anti-rich, all of it comes from a single source, JEALOUSY!
