Ki Sisah – The Circle Of Life

This week’s Torah Portion is Ki Sisa
Ki Sisa literally means to uplift (“when you will raise up.”)
To understand this week’s Torah portion, is not only to understand life itself – but the destiny of each and every person, and humanity as a whole.
Rabbi Schneerson – the great Lubavitcher Rebbe whose scholarship was both incredibly wide and deep – explains that each Torah portion has a general message (such as Breishis – Creation; Noah – G-d doesn’t like violence etc.) and Ki Sisa is the every mechanism by which G-d operates.
Effectively it is quite simple, there are three stages to everything that G-d does: first there is the vision (the Raison-D’etre of this..) then there is the implementation – then there is the result (which is the vision actualized.)
This theme exists literally both on the infinite macro, and the infinite micro level.
On the Macro level, true creation doesn’t begin “In the beginning..,” rather begins in the intent of why the world was made in the first place; which is for the Jewish people, through receiving the Torah and doing her Mitvos, should merit the ultimate redemption.
The same is true in an individual’s life – our soul come into this world for a Divine purpose – usually directly related to fulfilling Torah and Mitzvos, goodness and kindness – and when our soul has completed the mission, it is rewarded above.
The same holds true on a daily basis – A Jew wakes up in the morning and has a daily mission – to begin we say, the “Modeh Ani” the acknowledging that our soul has been restored within our body, we pray and study Torah, then we go to the tasks of the day, and at night our soul goes back to G0-d (hopefully) with all the good of the day.
To conclude, the reason this teaching is so awe inspiring – and how does it uplift us… – there are only two types of philosophies 1. That everything is circular (so many are the philosophies that have a certain ideal, and effectively the more you do the ideal… the better you are….) 2. The infinite truth is far – well more – infinite; – Each and every one of us – amid the general whole – has a specific and infinite soul journey – each and every event in your life has a special purpose – sometimes it will be something that will bring you to a higher (or better) state of consciousness (awareness) other times G-d is requesting (for example, when you see a problem – according to the Baal Shem Tov, nothing is random, so God is requesting) for you to have the privilege of helping.
