Judaism recognizes the emotional state of a person – the error of perhaps all ideas lies on its idealism not truly understanding the emotional state of who you are trying to impose your ideals on – for example, the Baal Shem Tov teaches, man judges himself – we are shown scenes in heaven which we are asked to judge and shown that we did the exact same thing – however on earth, we are told “God seeks not the passing of the wicked and eagerly anticipates to the dying day, that they should repent” – in other words, gone is the notion of the individual who is expected to be righteous – these expectations are actually evil, like expecting a fish to fly, or a bird to swim – all God hopes, longs, and obviously guns for, is, we should discover the pathway to heaven!
