Judaism is of course founded on the approach, namely, Naaseh Venishmah, believe it or not, these two simple foundational words to Judaism, namely, that FIRST we shall adhere to what God says and ONLY AFTERWARDS attempt to understand, is, why there has been three thousand plus years of persecution against Jews; for fundamentally people like to be free, but as people are tied into their ego, hence, as soon as someone desires something, usually out of pleasure or fear of pain (retraction) hence their mind justifies its nobility! hence our chaotic world, sanctioning perverse practices, all based on lusts; and it is only when man realizes that unless s/he submits, unconditional surrenders, listens to God instead of themselves, can we rise above all that is evil and engage in all that is good, so never think God is against pleasure, that’s Christianity, perhaps Islam; rather God is for unity, and in order for unity to exist, people must have boundaries, for as they say “healthy fences, makes healthy neighbors!”
