Judaism is actually a fascinating religion – as far as religions go; not that I am such an expert, but let’s use Christianity as an example; it’s basically lofty ideals, yet Judaism is very much a legal system; as we know, there are 248 dos 365 don’ts, even Judaism’s view for gentiles lives, consist of seven dos and don’ts, all apart maybe from the fundamental introduction to the commandments, namely – to believe in God – very much grounded in being a mentsh; for the truth is, lofty ideals can, not only, not be so practical; they can often delude people into seeing themselves as superior, and hence give rise to justifications, as we saw very clearly in Christianity’s case, of wholesale massacres of the inferiors!
