It is true there are many Gods – it is interesting how the Torah (Bible) references idolatry as other Gods – in other words, the truth is, what is novel in Judaism, something even those of us who do believe in the one God don’t really get, is that belief in one God means that there is no other force – in other words, if you see anything as being a mistake, you obviously don’t believe that everything was created by the same – For example if I look at a home and I say this room shouldn’t have been here, I obviously either think there were two architects, one good one bad, or I don’t trust the architect – However this leads to a conundrum (which is why we divide reality) can evil be good? – the answer is clear, that God set up a challenge – hence it is true there are many gods – many drives – and it is up to you to figure out which drive is good/God
