Is the Lubavitcher Rebbe the Messiah

Well I once heard a man asked a great Rabbi this question so he said “whether the Rebbe is the messiah I don’t know, but if the messiah will be like the Rebbe, he’ll be a pretty good messiah!”
But the point of this article is to unveil a simple reality – as George Orwell said – the hardest thing to see is, what’s right in front of your nose!
There are certain principles that the messiah will introduce – many not well know – which the Rebbe in his talks – primarily in the last four years before a stroke incapacitated his speech – he did.
The following are the principles:
These are all theological so they may not seem significant to the uninitiated but for Jewish scholars particularly of philosophy and mysticism they are all-significant!
Firstly one of the famous ideas – predictions – is that when Moshiach will come the soul will receive “nourishment” inspiration, from the body.
This of course was a hidden concept – how can a Divine soul, part of God, benefit from a body?
Yet the Rebbe revealed.
Another idea is the supremacy of the female.
Another and this is very little known, but the notion of God’s individual personal relationship with each individual, and how this can override the absolute “holy grail” of the immutability of Jewish law, redacted, taught, defined, clarified etc. etc. for thousands of years!
There are many more examples but let’s just use these three:
The first, the Rebbe clarified by a mind blowing teaching – without going all the details into it, the essence is – that a. our soul was created for our body (our body it seems to me, refers to us as we see ourselves, namely, we identify with our body and pretty much are unaware of this Divine spirit within) furthermore, the body is the essence of God – for as the Alter Rebbe teaches, only God with his infinite ability, can create matter out of nothing (big subject which we can’t get into all the details now) in other words, if you really want to know God, just know the physical matter of your own body, for it is the essence of God concealed!
Regarding women, the Rebbe certainly put them on their rightful plateau, emphasizing how they were even more energetic than the men in the exodus from Egypt, having trusted more in the Exodus and hence (and subsequently) danced more at its redemption; furthermore they exceled in many other aspects showing both their special love for God and God’s reciprocal love for them – the Rebbe believed, according to Kabbalah we are the reincarnation of the Jews who left Egypt, hence it is those very same women who stood so courageously for God amidst such darkness that once again stand firm in their commitment both through the lighting of Shabbos candles as well as tznuis (the incredible challenge of modest attire in the absolutely bizarre “show it all” style our modern culture has embraced) and it is particularly in their merit that God will bring the third temple, peace to the world etc. etc.
And finally, every single one of the Rebbe’s last four years of talks really had a single theme – a theme well developed, but somewhat obscure in previous Chassidic texts – namely that the messianic era is one in which the infinite light of God permeates the finite consciousness of man – he further explains based on the principle that when God himself appears this becomes the overriding objective – to listen to the voice of God within!
