Is Moshiach more natural or is Galus (exile, the Jewish position in Diaspora, more natural?)

By zevi770 · January 22, 2012

Well it depends from what vantage point we are looking.

If we are looking from the vantage point of history, than exile is more natural, but if we are looking from the vantage point of truth than there can nothing as bizarre as exile.

What is exile?

Let us travel back in time and look at all the exiles and we will see a. why exile is absolutely weird, b. why it is over, and c. why the Messianic redemption has, is, and will be coming.

The first exile began when a special family – the spiritual leader of the world (as we know pharaoh sent his own daughter Hagar to be the servant of Abraham saying “better for her to be his servant than a princess in my palace”) now this noble family through a bizarre set of circumstances as we read, pharaoh (a new pharaoh) claimed, “they might take over our country let us enslave them” and the first notorious Egyptian exile began.

This followed a period of approximately 800 years of autonomy in Israel followed by another bizarre exile, namely Nevuchadnezar decimated Israel which wasn’t even his usual practice, rather he exiled the nobles Jews to Babylonia to serve as advisers and through a weird mess-up the Jews fled Israel fearing Nevuchadnezars revenge as one Jew, Yishmoel, killed his governor, Gedalyah ben Achikam.

Seventy years later a ragtag bunch of heroes come back and rebuilt the temple and once again only the Divine hand could have had a Jewish king, namely two warring descendents of the Chashmoinay family, invites Rome to settle their dispute and you know how a power hungry Roman emperor is – once you invite him in, well he doesn’t leave.

And then after incredible conquests trying to rid Jerusalem of Rome the Jews were thoroughly beaten and exile or shall we say exile mentality began.

What is the exile mentality, it is not different from a bully and a victim, the bully is evil and hence rapes, pillages, plunders at will, and the victim becomes fearful and begins to just stay out of the bully’s way.

Now we can understand why exile is weird, for based on modern assumptions that might is not right, and democracy, freedom and national and international peace is correct, the very culture of exile from the standpoint of evil gentiles doesn’t exist (the only current exception is the Arabs and we see their morality clearly and this too was predicted – namely that they would be the last thorn in the worlds backside) from the standpoint that the world is not run by tyrants anymore, and leaders need to be democratically elected by people who believe in democracy, exile is over, and last but not least, the radical transformative mentality, from the mentality of might is right to right is might, has only just begun – Please God the transformation happening in the Arab world will bring this consciousness to the very last thorn – bastion of evil in the world and when even these wandering murderers, rapists, slave drivers, terrorists also see the light – well then as our sages state, the primary difference between the messianic era and the exile era is peace.

As Jews who know what suffering means, who have endured two thousand years of rape, pillage, and plunder, to see the light at the end of the tunnel, all we need to do is simply open up our eyes.
