Integrating the infinite, within the finite

By zevi770 · November 8, 2013

We all know, this is God’s ultimate loving intent

But what we don’t realize, is, that though we are comfortable with the idea of integrating the Divine will into our behaviors, hence, say keeping kosher etc. etc. there is a far loftier mechanism

The past, of course, was riddled with this notion, hence for thousands of years, correctly so, Jews learnt how to alter their behaviors, to align themselves with the Divine will, hence allowing the Divine, locations of access.

But the ultimate goal, is not a location, or many locations; e.g. my hand when I put on Teffilin, my head when I study Torah etc.; rather, that the infinite one merges, and the two of us, like two flames merging, become one.

This is achieved, by not seeing two separate individuals, the Divine will and my adherence, like a servant to a master; rather by understanding as the famous prayer Shema. “Understand O’ Jews, The Infinity of God is your infinity;” In other words, by bittul, by nullifying my very will, and allowing the Divine will to become MY will – then two have become one; the infinite has merged in the finite; resulting in a very joyous God, and a very lucky you!
