In truth we must understand three things to understand anything

Firstly we are souls not bodies – fundamentally, there is no difference between the physical matter of a worm and us and even water or more accurately mud, as our bodies come from the ground etc.

Our soul as the Alter Rebbe clarifies, contains three separate drives: goodness, selfish pleasure and fear of pain and ego

But ultimately, all of this is because, the singular God desires to bestow upon you and I his love, which manifests, when we rise beyond our selfish and egotistical side
