In the beginning I made man – you see, what does it mean, “in the beginning”? – how can you say, “in the beginning”? – for I have no beginning! – “I was, is, and always will be”! – in fact, the very first thing made, was time – before time, was truth – and all that existed was I – So when we see, “In the beginning” it means relative to You, – “in your beginning” – “In the beginning of time” – the next word is also very important for it is “Borah” – as the Ramban says, “whenever we use the word Borah (create) in Hebrew, it means from nothing” n- so in other words, what was created was firstly time and then a physical universe – in other words – you were placed into a new beginning – a dimension which you see as having a beginning – additionally which you can feel – what you see as your home – But what you are not aware of is, why? – For all creation must have a creator and if the creation is logical (and even if not) it must have a purpose – So the purpose of creation must serve the desire of the Creator (for no one paints without wanting to etc.) So once you understand why I created, the rest is well, simple – and the bottom line, as the Rebbe says – the reason behind all the reasons (for there are about five) for creation, is identification (you see, as our sages state, there are two types of love – one is lust (so “you have something I desire”) the other is friendship, whereby as I see you are like me (this is particularly by humble people, for arrogance creates only selfishness) therefore I seek your welfare (as I seek my own.) So we must say, that as creation already fulfills the desire (like having a baby, already is the mother’s primary wish) nonetheless, similarly, as it is based on love, by necessity what follows is the greatest blessing possible – hence we have an absolute clear picture – reality is a means by which He with unconditional regard for you, continuously blesses (now often we may think, “If that is the case, why is life so tough?” – the answer is that in order for you to receive the greatest blessing that exists, namely a sense of accomplishment! – and furthermore that you can continuously do so! – you a. must be challenged (for challenge both evokes your determination, discernment, as well as achievement, (for if you do not overcome, it wasn’t you) and b. you must grow
