In the beginning I created you – you have two observational realities – the first is within, the second is beyond – within is called the experiential standpoint – as Einstein said “reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one” – from an experiential standpoint you see division – yourself and others, and within others, men and women, adults and children, perhaps different races, certainly different species, flora, fauna, and if you are a geologist, many different minerals – but what both science and Kabbalah teach, is from an observational reality devoid of experiential information, from purely analyzing the absolute structure of all matter – well, as Einstein said “Everything is one!” – there is but One Infinite Being who created everything finite – now as Einstein also conccured that science cannot lead – what the mind can observe is merely a fact but not a direction; hence for this we need to go to revelation, to God-himself, who has come to us repeatedly as it states, “In every generation I will establish a prophet like Mosses” – as the Baal Shem Tov teaches, sometimes we know, sometimes we don’t – in our generation it certainly was the Lubavitcher Rebbe whose fundamental message is this – “we are all here to grow!” – now growth means sublimating my ego / desires to fulfill the will of God; and when I do that and when you do that, two things occur: we go beyond the animal experiential reality, which of-course as mentioned isn’t true, and we cause our lives to be valuable and a blessing to others; and perhaps the entire raison detr’e of this whole existence, namely, e-pluribus-unum, unity through seeing our common identity (namely each of us, an instrument in God’s symphony) occurs.
