In order to understand the truth number one, you must desire to understand the truth! for ultimately, what runs us, is not the truth, but our desires; which is obvious, which is why, though the truth may be fairly obvious, certainly any common-sensical individual, would not kill, steal, rape etc. etc. yet we see how many people do, do this!!! – not only do they do this, they actually justify their behavior! – we see as Kabbalah teaches, “desire is the most powerful of human emotions” – “it has the capacity not only to create an emotion, but to bend our perception, justifying what we ourselves would find abhorrent had we no desire for it and if someone else did it!” (an easy proof of this is, see the radical shift in thinking of how boys see girls before and after puberty)
