In life we can have one of two realities – this is absolutely fascinating for it parallels both Einstein’s and I believe Reb Menachem Mendel of Kotzk’s teaching that essentially either we see everything as a miracle or nothing – the reason for this strange dichotomy is, it is built off of a fundamental premise – either your consciousness is conscious that everything is run by God hence everything is God, or though you may actually believe this, but your consciousness is either too focused on your desires and your fears, hence your mind is actively pursuing either the attainment or refrain to/from a destination, and in this consciousness you lose touch – this perhaps explains why in Judaism we have so many reminders there is a God – Don’t we already know it? – but as we see empirically, what we know is very quickly forgotten.
