In 5752 (1992), the Rebbe explained that we have reached a point in history where the verse regarding Redemption, “The light of the moon will then be like the light of the sun” (Yeshayah 30:26), is beginning to be fulfilled.

As a result, the Jews, who are compared to the moon (a recipient of light from another source), are now compared to the sun (that generates light); every Jew can and should be a “Mashpia,” an active source of positive influence.
