Imagine you were raised as a dog – your whole life you knew you were a dog – but one day, you waddled past a pond and a duck said – “why don’t you come and fly?” – you laughed a hearty laugh “because I am a dog” – “no, you are not” – a little incensed you say “excuse me, but don’t you think I know who I am!” “but you don’t look like a dog.” now you are furious, you let out a litany of expletives and so the duck says “would you like me to prove it?” and now your are unsure – how can he prove it? – (you see this duck was raised by dogs and never saw itself) similarly, when God comes to man he says “you are really Divine” – and you say "don’t you think, I know who I am" so God says "Would you like me to prove it?" – the choice is yours
