Imagine I was a baker, yes a baker, and you tasted my cake, “himmm I taste some chestnut” you say, I say, “well not really chestnut, that’s an artificial flavor,” “well what are the ingredients?” – the same thing applies – you look at a person including yourself and you say “himm what exactly are the driving forces?” – “What makes me wish to succeed? What makes me sad? What makes me angry? Why am I curious? Why do I feel compassion?” and the answer of course is “you are a mix of ingredients” – Every ingredient pushes you in a direction – but these directions are not complementary, in fact, as any baker can tell you, if you don’t mix the right amount of each, well you end up with a mess – So it is your job to figure out how much of each – well because we got information from the Chef – God, through Kabbalah, I’ll help you out – Rule number one – you are not the chef, you are a human and if you try to play chef, like every other human you will mess up your life and maybe the life of others! Rule number two, only follow the chef’s ingredients (which is obvious but takes humility – suffice it to say, all the truly great people Abraham to the Rebbe did so) Rule number three – if you seek to truly do rule number two with all your heart and all your soul, and you truly understand Rule number one, then your life will be a blessing – to you and to everyone else!
