If we follow on the wavelength theory, we must understand that it is an imperative to have the right wavelength, the reason is, because we like to have our cake and eat it, as the Baal Shem Tov teaches, “the reason we fall, is because we want it all!” but the truth is, we can only really be heading in one direction at a time, so what actually happens is, the predominant desire / wavelength overtakes and pushes out the others – just as if you were to drop a stone and allow it to cause ripples, if you then drop another, its newer more powerful energy will push away the other ripples from its own – and hence as the essence of three thousand years of Judaism and Jewish mysticism which introduced moral love, goodness and kindness, humanity and humaneness, unity and happiness, to our planet teaches, we must give up our desires in totality! for each and every one is – even the good ones – a specific, which will eliminate the general whole – the only wavelength we must engage in, is Dirah Bitachtoinim – to seek to like a solider to his officer follow the orders – for when we follow orders, asking our mashpia (Chassidic spiritual mentor) for advice – our association to the action changes – for if I decide what to do, the ego-wavelength unites with my decision (which is why people are not dispassionate but passionate about their discoveries, businesses, relationships etc.) and hence the wavelength becomes to the exclusion of all other (oftentimes necessary) wavelengths – but if the reason I act, is out of orders, it doesn’t overtake my wavelengths odometer (consciousness) and it allows me to both retain my previous positive behavior, while simply adding another – ad-infinitum!
