If I were the Chinese government, I would understand as game theory that there are basically two ways of looking at reality – first way which is a more ancient way… when we look at China’s history with its many horrific wars is a “Man eat Man world” and the strongest is the king – but there’s another way of looking at reality and that is based on the much more civilized approach, whereby whether it’s a king or a government that enforces a universal law – so the Western countries that have been brought up for thousands of years, particularly America that comes from England, which already in 1290 had the Magna Carta, so these are people that really believe in the idea of right and wrong – which is the opposite of a man eat man world – so even though they’re nice, but with the same power in which they are kind, the moment they see the other person is evil… which is why it is critical for any government that wants to have good relations with America, to be quite simply – as one of the greatest researchers into the perception of governments says – number one you have to be moral, because people want to do business with good people, and morality is always to look for win-win situations, never for win-lose situations
