If I had to write a last will and testament, this is what it would be!

This week, we begin Mosses’s last will and testament, the book of Devarim

I went to a lecture today, where a Rabbi said, the most important last will and testament, is not who gets which stock or bonds, rather, what is the moral discoveries you wish to impart to the younger generation!

So mine would be

After everything is said and done, we have had over 6000 years experience – so what I write to you is not based on whims and fancies, but actual trial and error.

There is no political or ethical system we humans have not tried.

And there is a single one which is a holy one, a single one which helps you help others, thereby giving your life meaning and purpose!

That’s right, you got it, Judaism!

But many make a colossal error – they see Judaism as a old-fashioned religion – this is because they lack the inner soul of Judaism, Jewish mysticism which teaches – as is empirically obvious – God is just as much present as he was at Mount Sinai – sure, he may have been more revealed then, but his presence IS the fabric of reality! His presence can never be shut off, for if it was, all that emanates from it would not be!!

Now, God is primarily our teacher, our master, guiding us along an infinite elevator, to ever greater heights!

So though you may think your physical connection to God is the same as then – this again is merely the lack of understanding Jewish mysticism, which teaches, our SPIRITUAL connection to God grows ever STRONGER – every moment, the entire cosmos, you included gets refreshed, reenergized with an infinitely loftier level of Godliness hitherto unrevealed! – it is this infinitely loftier level which can and does shine new light on God’s teachings!

So in the elevator prism, imagine how you were placed three thousand three hundred and twenty five years ago in an elevator, beginning in the deepest depths, but capable of always creating a higher floor to land on!

So sure, we begin with the basics of Judaism and Jewish belief, but to end there is to still be in the dark! For as God is infinite, there is always another lesson, ready to raise your goodness and kindness, compassion and humility – and these lessons are – as God is – constantly coming at you, as the Baal Shem Tov teaches, everything you see and hear is a teaching, even your thoughts! as the Rebbe teaches, Often are God’s lessons to you!

So get a life, All you need to do is press UP on your ELEVATOR!
