If and when we see a fault in another, besides as the Baal Shem Tov (and Jung who discovered and later said, the Baal Shem Tov’s discovery predated his own) says, that it is because we have that fault in us, the very motivation to see the fault, stems from jealousy, which results in hate, which results in seeking an excuse through which (a rationalization) one can justify abuse
