Idealistic, narcissistic to realistic

By zevi770 · May 9, 2014

We begin life idealistic.

Loved, we love; and we feel (hopefully) secure.

What we don’t realize, is the dark side of life!

Studies show, practically everyone has been bullied; so, exposed to maliciousness, we reframe our picture of humanity.

The dark-lord has entered into our hearts.

Fear and anger have come in.

With fear and anger come resentment, and actually jealousy (for we then become jealous of those who are calm and happy, hence in turn bully them).

This is the narcissistic stage, when we have tucked away our idealism into the recesses of our heart; covered over our vulnerability with a false mask of indifference; and lack that sensitivity, we were born into!

But then, there must come the realistic stage:

Reality is, as Kabbalah teaches, a mix, between the forces of good and evil.

Sure (hopefully) you were born into, form and hence love; but even your parents weren’t only good; for as the verse states, “Not even the perfectly righteous, never sin.”

Sin is a part of the human condition.

Once we understand this simple truth, good and evil, not black and white – but infinite shades of grey, with the challenge of making sure, we continually paint another layer of white, reducing the darkness, increasing the light; that and that alone is reality! then we can make peace with the past, hence, live in the present, and better the future!
