I was recently talking to a high ranking military officer and she told me how we often – very true – have myopic thinking – for example, as Americans, we love to do good, so say the army looks at a village in Afghanistan and they find the ladies must walk five hours to get water from a well – “hey let’s fix that,” we think, and we build a well in their village – trouble is, that the only freedom they ever had was the five hours walking to get water
