I recently read a Mammer where the Rebbe states that the union of God and man taking place in the messianic era is in fact greater than all the rewards of the messianic era.

As the Alter Rebbe would often say “I don’t want your Gan Eden, I don’t want your Olam Haba (The revelations of the messianic era) I only want you.”
In other words, often we thought that the messianic era was a state of revelation and surely it will be, but that is nothing compared to the intimate oneness every Jew will merge with God.
This is happening all over the world now, where many people report hearing a voice giving them advice which is not their own but highly relevant with exact instructions as to how to improve their lives.
Although I cant prove it, but this is the union of God and man for as the Rebbe states that the ultimate perfection of God is not in being higher than this world rather in both being higher and within this world at the same time, something a human cannot achieve.
So miracles manifested within the natural order to the extent that the humans nature becomes miraculous is this unity of God / Atzmus, who has no limitations and can create an entirely new nature which is happening all over.
Obviously this doesn’t preclude the revelations; I think the best description is the words of the sages, that Matan Torah, the giving of the Ten Commandments / Torah was the engagement, while Moshiach is the marriage, the difference between an engagement and marriage is simple, two separate people or one unified body.
A Jew post Matan Torah was separate to God but betrothed through obligations to God, as God was to the Jews.
However a messianic Jew is one in which there is no separation of God and the Jew rather the two become unified as the single opinion which happens in marriage (or ideally should happen namely two opinions merge into one unified goal.)
All the subsequent pleasure of marital bliss are only subsequent to the actual marriage which is the greatest union, the greatest miracle, the greatest pleasure that can exist.
