I read a beautiful talk from the Rebbe today in which he relates the oil of the Menorah to the light of Chassidus – this light serves three primary goals – firstly like oil and light, it flavors and illuminates that which already exists – for Judaism without Chassidus is like an undressed salad or a dark room – however more importantly, the oil and light is its own grandeur (for all who study Chassidus know) and most importantly, we are tasting of the flavor and heralding the messianic light
