I often wondered about the unconditional love displayed by the Baal Shem Tov – by the Rebbe – were they naive?? – but in point of fact, there are three kinds of people: naive, like children or liberals (as they say "a liberal is someone who hasn’t (God-forbid) been stabbed;") as people experience the vicissitudes, abuse etc. then, as they say "trauma is a normal reaction, to an abnormal situation," and as most people have been bullied – unwarranted-hate – they become somewhat disassociated – their enthusiasm for this source of pleasure, turns into fear (and in bad cases, hate) However, there is a third unique select group – who you should obviously try to emulate! (the reason perhaps God made them!) – these people understand – they let go of their fears (through faith – trust in God – knowledge – certitude – all is for the good!) and hence lacking fear, they choose – from conviction – to love!
