I now understand God – yes I really do – well of course no one knows God, but God at least visavie us is a mechanism, and I truly believe I understand it – you see, to begin with we must exist – our existence is not only the perception of self, for you can perceive a tree exists but you have no emotional connection to it, rather it is love of self! – in order to give us love of self, God gave us the pleasure of fulfilling our pleasures (which is distinct from the pleasure derived) As we are little babies, we cry and our mother feeds, changes our diaper etc. we begin to take pleasure in our ability to get things done – this is like the pleasure you feel when you are successful at something – The problem with developing this pleasure is we then become deluded that we are in charge of our destiny – of-course as our minds are pretty much non-existent (everything is instinctual) by the time we are a toddler we have convinced ourselves that we are literally capable of doing anything – it is is most difficult to hear that dreaded word NO! – that is why we throw tantrums; the proof its not the pleasure we seek rather the pleasure of getting our way, is the moment we are distracted we easily forget what we wanted as our ego has a new ambition, like a kid on a video game facing a new level – well, hopefully we are not spoiled (for a spoiled child never learns reality, as they always expect to get their way, which is why they are always unhappy) In this stage we begin to form an identity based on the people who do get their way, we will identify with our cultural heroes (in fact this is why Islam is so dangerous, as Churchill called it, “the most retrograde force in the world,” for their hero is Mohamed who embarked – disregarding for a moment the notion that he was a prophet – on a life of caravan raiding i.e. murdering, looting, enslaving, warring with, beheading and capturing women as sex-slaves – sound familiar? – for as these children grow up with this hero, such is their ambition) Of-course every society has its heroes and this is a very big subject, but getting back to God’s mechanism – ultimately, as our Jewish mystics teach us, the ultimate desire of God is to have a relationship with us – and as we know about relationships it means two people must fall in love with one another – this ironically means a. we must be different (for you don’t fall in love with the same) and b. we must derive benefit, hence essentially cast into the sea of prosperity, of sexual gratification, of not needing to fight for survival or food we leanrt the art of existential meaninglessness, looking for a fundamental purpose to existence, God makes a grand entry – but ultimately and this is a critical point, for hundreds of millions (at least) have experienced his novel reality – if we don’t understand that God unlike man is infinite with no beginning, no end! rather with ever inspiring waves of consciousness; we fall into the spiritual trap called ying without yang (ecstasy without groundedness)
