I know a man, Charlie, who was a marine in world war two – he told me, having liberated (or come some time after) the concentration camps – “you could smell death…” – “evil is real” – now, you may think he is a bitter or angry person- far from it, he started a successful insurance company and then following a revelation by God, he started a rehab community which he personally puts in app. 5 million annually, above and beyond perhaps a hundred million into the infrastructure – you see, what we must understand is, what is the genesis of love and of hate? – what makes American billionaires give their money to a charity and Arabs to terrorism? (as we speak Suaidi Arabia not only gave their money to 9/11 and their primary export is terrorism, but are supporting isis and relish the rape, abuses etc.) the truth is, it all boils down to human nature – we, as Kabbalah teaches, are a composite of three separate souls – the mind which is simply the ability to make a mathematical deduction, but as Einstein said, “the mind cannot lead” for it is neutral, much like a computer or the internet will simply tell you what you want to hear -(it will calculate the direction, like a gps, but it cannot tell you what direction…) then there is our instincts, now our instincts neurosurgeons tell us include compassion – sure our primary instinct is survival, but as we see empirically, children are naturally compassionate – so what happens? – and how do we get from compassion to such malevolence?! – relishing the rape and torture of others : ( – the answer is that as Kabbalah teaches, God created mirror realities – just as there is pleasure in the assistance of those less fortunate, there is pleasure in the domination / abuse of those less fortunate -hence when a person has a healthy sense of pride, they also have a healthy sense of shame – therefore they would not allow themselves to fall as low as to allow their sadistic malevolence (like a serial killer etc.) to be acted upon (The reason for this is that ultimately shame and pride are how we wish to view ourselves, hence as I wish not to see myself in a shameful light, I shan’t do what is shameful) However what happens if I have been made to believe I ALREADY am shameful??? (not to mention, if my religion or culture teaches y the definition of good is terrorism! etc.) then not only is nothing quelling my sadistic side, the innate jealousy over others good, is actively spurring it
