I have often wondered why does God says he can be with a humble idol worshipper but not an arrogant even Torah scholar?! the answer is that what arrogance does, it creates a subconscious premise "I am great hence I am justified" now as God is about compassion and the body’s instincts are diametrically apposed for they are about sex/power
