as we look back over five thousand years of civilization, we are offered hindsight

what has proven itself?

in the end of the day, to the best of my knowledge, the only religion that has proven itself was the God of the Jews

the reason for this is, that behind Judaism is an all encompassing humility – unlike paganism where the individual owned their God

unlike Islam where their god condones nay extols murder, rape etc. (Mohamed himself had a brothel of conquered women and “married” a nine year old) the entire premise of Judaism is that God is everything

the reason this premise is so important, is because man has always had a war – between humility and arrogance

anything that induces humility in man – and ironically as Dr. Mendelow told me, that he saw that the Alter Rebbe says that the problem even with meditations of the east (many which parallel Jewish mysticism) is that it can end in ego (as friends of mine who studied Buddhism were most disconcerted by the behavior of their leaders) for everything ingested including wisdom – creates a bloated sense of self

only the humility induced by the mitzvos – absolute eternal unchanging principles – values, obligations, commandants – ensures the humble hence kind heart
