I had a feeling but it’s now confirmed

I always felt the factors that affect one, really affect all, as psychologists say, Trauma is a normal reaction, to an abnormal circumstance.
One of the most interesting things for me is, that most of my life I lived in America.
Now America is a highly open friendly society.
Now I have lived in South Africa for over a decade and – no offence, making a point here – South Africa is a society riddled, quite literally, with mental illness; on the lower end of that spectrum, anxiety, rigidity, and pretense, is the order of the day.
And the causes are very simple, though profoundly disturbing.
People are born to love.
We are by nature social creatures.
However two types of societies exist:
One in which the individual is celebrated, such societies; democracy in America, create a healthy confidence, and a safe secure environment for the person’s psyche, for their self-esteem, individuality to express itself.
On the flip side, as unfortunately most societies – certainly third world are – there is absolutely, no respect for the individual; power; and wealth used like a tool of narcissism, are the order of the day.
Hence the individual’s identity is eroded, their self-esteem is shattered.
Instead of feeling like a winner, they feel like a loser.
And hence they create a false persona – inside they are crying, but on the outside, they are the coolest thing that exists.
