I believe all human goodness can be summed up in the knowledge of who we are – I recently read of an exchange of a Jewish youngster searching for truth in the hippie era and finally comes to the Lubavitcher Rebbe – he asked the Rebbe, “Where is God” – “Everywhere” – “But where is God” – “God is in everything” – “But where is God” – “God is in your heart, if that is what you are asking” – “Is God more in me than in say a black or Indian?” – replied the Rebbe, “God is found within everyone and everything, however the black and the Indian and the Jew must be the best black, Indian or Jew they can be” – Yes God is all of our souls, our spirit, but our mission, even of a husband and wife, two people sharing the exact same soul, differentiated into its male and female part, must recognize they are both one and both unique – figure out what your soul is meant to do, and worry not about another’s performance (unless you are trying to help them which is within the context of yours.)
