How you define right and wrong, is the most important question – you see, there are many groups – sure we all have selfish instincts, but if your very definition of right, is like it is amongst only 700,000,000 Muslims (the salafists who are traditionalists) than what isis is doing is right! – if they could, they would do it to the entire world (the caliphate the “umma” “one world under shariah” is the only goal of Islam – to quote the Muslim brotherhood’s mantra: “Allah is our objective; the Qur’an is the Constitution; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; death for the sake of Allah is our wish”.) if you are a more moderate Muslim and you reject jihad, then effectively the definition of good is whatever your Imam tells you (most likely the five principles of Zaka / charity, haj / the pilgrimage to mecca, praying five times a day and the other religious duties) Now for a Christian it’s actually rather interesting, for the new-testament is not a book of laws – so effectively they draw their legal system from the old, yet being there are 30,000 Cristian denominations obviously it will vary – Judaism is fascinating for its legal system is absolute, codified and verified over millenia – however within it there are obviously different groups, emphasizing different things – a false claim that there are reform or conservation Jewish branches is about as ironic as “gay marriage”(for the definition of marriage has always been a male and a female, usually in the quest for children and a life together (whereas the average gay person has 300 stints, marries for only 5 months and feels monogamy would be compromising his lifestyle, WHILE HE IS “MARRIED,” similarly reform Judaism (for anyone who knows it, as I read its core “texts”, has a single rule which is, there is no such thing as Judaism – every “rabbi,” gets to make up “whatever he wishes” and conservative isn’t far behind – this is why many American Jews are, though being inheritors of thousands of years of Orthodox Judaism, hence a civilized ethical framework, nonetheless, are easily persuaded into false ideologies – lacking their own)
