How we become our own enemy – you see – we are first and foremost an illusion – for-example, 43 years ago the delusion called zevi simply didn’t exist- there was no one in this universe, including myself, who considered me – Now once we are born, we rapidly take in vast quantities of information – but one of the fundamental ways we exist is by the perception that we are worthy – as we know from children basically abandoned in Romanian orphanages, that they lack desire (for desire is predicated on wanting to fulfill my desires ) it works like this – imagine a home – so the entire home is predicated on a foundation – though we do not see this, without it there would be no home – The foundation of a person is not only the knowledge of self, but the ego – the obsession – this is why two year olds, who have been through so much of getting their way, hence their ego gets acute, become unreasonable (and only when their ego gets quashed do they become normal) (hence adults who develop an ego, effectively regress – they throw tantrums – for the ego is irrational – it is the expectation to get your way – this is why a spoiled child can never be happy – as reality is always “denying them” -for example, a humble person (who doesn’t expect their desires) will find every fulfilled desire to be a bonus! (while an ego filled person, who expects to get their way will find every desire confirms their ego, hence they become ever more intolerant, obnoxious, angry, hence jealous, hence cruel)
