Explanation☝️

A Jew’s day begins at night.

The essence of being a Jew, in fact, any intelligent person, is not allowing time to overtake you, but to infuse it with intentionality.

I guarantee if you do this, and this is based on, if I may humbly say, 40 years of study of practical wisdom and tips from Judaism, Jewish mysticism, you will see that your life is meaningful, purposeful, and amazing.

The first thing that we do when it becomes night, we pray the evening service, Ma’ariv.

In fact, the Alter Rebbe says that the twice a day that we have to say the Shema corresponds to the amount of years of life we have!

There is tremendous mysticism in the very words of the Shema. The Baal Shem Tov says to do whatever you can to try to concentrate on all the words of the Shema.

This itself will enhance your life tremendously.

The second thing is we say the bedtime prayer. It has tremendous meaning and significance. We forgive everyone.

When my grandfather, a great Chassid, would start saying the bedtime prayer, he would immediately start to cry. There was a time that a young student came to his yeshiva in Poland,  he saw he was saying the bedtime prayer and he asked if there was a bed, and he pointed to a bed.

When the student woke up in the morning, he saw my grandfather still saying the bedtime prayer, for it’s not only a time to say the Shema again, but it’s a time to reflect on the day.

Life can be like a movie, and you’re acting in it, but you don’t even realize. It’s only when you reflect, you think about how were my thoughts, speech, and actions today, that actually the movie begins to have a remote and you’re able to reflect and change and grow.

When we do this, our soul goes higher in heaven.

We also put a cup in a pail, so in the morning when we wake up, we can wash Nagel Vaser.

When we go to sleep, we go to sleep on our left side, and we wake up on our right side.

When a Jew wakes up, we don’t go back to bed.

We realize G-d woke us up. We sit up and we put our hands together, sort of like in a meditative pose. This goes back to Abraham. And we say the Modeh Ani, thank G-d, for giving our soul back from heaven. Then you should think about or say the things that you are grateful for, for the first thought of the day will influence the rest of your day.

You then wash three times each hand alternatively, go to the bathroom, wash your mouth, take a shower as you like, and we say the morning blessings.

This way we begin life thanking G-d for what we have, for no matter what you have, unless you create a ritual of gratitude, it becomes not only blasé, it can actually become an attitude. Instead of it being a blessing, you can now think that you are entitled and be upset when you don’t have more, which is the story of life unless you stop the story.

Then a Jew needs to give some charity.

Depending on the levels you wish to go many Chassidim, the men will go to mikveh in the morning.

Obviously pray in the morning. A person should pray slowly and concentrate on the words. There’s no greater meditation, as I heard from Dr. Trachtman, who invented an amazing device to help people relax that davening Shemona Esrei does the same. It brings us into the alpha frequency if done properly.

After praying, we have to learn Torah. The prayer was an elevation to G-d and the Torah is grounding it.

Then we go into the world to do what we need to do ethically and with love.

And of course, in the middle of the day, we should make time for exercise. A person should at least exercise half hour a day.

Of course, we have to eat healthy. We have to say thank you to G-d for the foods that He is giving us and that we are eating.

And last but not least, we conclude the day before sunset with the Mincha prayer!

BE A SUCCESS! BE A JEW!
