How the Rebbe opened up a new vista of Jewish mysticism

By zevi770 · May 27, 2014

There is a good book by Faitel Levin, describing a single vista, namely that of Dirah Bitachtoinim, showing the Rebbe’s revolutionary approach. The same holds on many fronts.

Sometimes it’s not what you say, but what you emphasize, that shows what you find to be what should be said!

Though by no means am I an expert on Chassidus or the Rebbes writings, the following seems to me the new vistas of emphasis, obviously contained before, but taken together, form an entirely new worldview in which man – as always – can move forward through the wisdom of the latest Rebbe, leader of our people – and as Chassidus explains, their job is to be the head/mind, seeing things otherwise invisible even to the most intelligent human!

So prior to the Rebbe, the world was indeed quite dark and the main darkness was based on the fragmentation, primarily between God and the physical realms!

The Rebbe all but united that fragmentation into a single oneness.

The universe as he explains, is God.

The nature of our physical matter of course is energy, energy of course is continually re-appearing (as say the electrons in your light bulb must continually reflow to give the illusion of continues light – which is why, when you stop the flow of electrons the bulb goes dead) hence in essence, our universe is nothing more, than Divine!

The same holds true with our own being – whereas once again there was this Divide between the corporeal man and the ethereal God, the Rebbe merged the two into a oneness – our souls he declared (which is obvious, though perhaps not that realized or emphasized) are God, and we are in truth our souls.

Yet of course we exist in paradigms in which we both sense and obviously inherit the view of separation.

Ah’ isn’t that why God gave us brains!
