How happiness is the cure

By zevi770 · December 27, 2012

In life we can either be happy or we can be sad

Most people want to be happy but don’t know how

This article is not how to be happy, rather is, why to be happy!

You see our sages of Kabbalah teach us, that when we are happy we do not have limitations!

In Kabbalah one of the central themes, especially in the Kabbalah of the Arizal, mentioned quite a bit in the Chassidus of the Baal Shem Tov, is the open and closed state:

Why is it, that some people look in pain?

While others look like they don’t have a care in the world?

This is what the open and closed state:

As always, the Rebbe who read all of the teachings prior and had the ability to summarized all, summarized the open and closed state best; he said, that when a person is the giver he is in the open state, for the giver has no fear, however when a person is the receiver, they are in the closed state, for the receiver always fears her lack of giving by the giver.

Hence a child who receives their needs, is healthy, a child who doesn’t, obviously is in a state of fear.

This very much relates to marriage where the husband is called the giver (though he receives much of course) and the wife is called the receiver (though she gives much) but the point is, whenever you have a giver and receiver, the job of the giver is to channel his love toward the receiver, for the receiver waits upon his love, for she fears not receiving it and the state of fear creates, a closed state – like a sheep prior to its shearing, it is in a state of fear, hence silence.
