For close to thirty years, Nissim Kinan has been a correspondent and the voice of the South on the radio program ‘Kol Yisroel’ – Voice of Israel.
He covers all the happenings, seeing things first hand with his own eyes and reporting on them from the area. In these days, he can be found where rockets fall in the South.
What he sees baffles the mind. There is no explanation for what he sees, except to say that it is a MIRACLE!
“I am not embarrassed to say that everything which is happening in this operation is ONE BIG MIRACLE! There aren’t any coincidences; only a MIRACLE!”
Nissim Kinan continues and says:
“Anyone who does not believe in miracles, is invited to come to the South. Only a day ago, a rocket hit a villa in Beer Sheva. It destroyed the whole house and sent 1000 ball bearings around. Inside lived an elderly lady who was 86 years old. She was extricated from the rubble with only minor injuries. In the seconds before the explosion she was saying Tehillim! This is beyond logical grasp!”
Kinan is very respected in the media world. He has received many awards for his work. His voice has become the voice of the South. He lives in Beer Sheva, and is the father of three children. While being interviewed, a steady stream of news was coming in to his cellular phone – an update on a rocket; a car is hit; a fire broke out.
Yet, his intensive work stops on erev Shabbat.
“I keep Shabbat according to Halacha, fully,” he says. His voice is not heard on Shabbat on the radio. However, he can be heard somewhere else.
“For years, I lead the davenning at my shul, ‘Rinat Miriam’, and read the Torah.”
“How is this looked upon by your radio audience?” the interviewer asks.
“They respect my commitment to keeping Shabbat,” he replies.
Nissim Kinan shares another episode which took place during a live program he was doing on Voice of Israel, during the previous campaign in Gaza in November 2012 – ‘Operation Pillar of Cloud ‘, as if to verify his words.
“Ten rockets fell in Beer Sheva. Suddenly I heard a loud blast. I saw a pillar of smoke in front of my eyes. I understood that the rocket fell at my neighbor’s house. Immediately, I left the microphone and ran to try and save lives. To my great wonderment I witnessed a great miracle. The rocket fell exactly on the safe room which the family had completed not two hours before! Thus the family’s life was saved!!”

If I could add, it is only NISSIM GLUYIM here!
here is a story I heard from this girl on wednesday. She is from Sderot (very close to gaza). I meet her wednesday in seminary and asked how is she doing, so she tells me over that just this week, one of the times (and they have lots of them) the siren went on, they manage to run to the mamad (safe room), by the way, they have 10 seconds to enter it and close the door – a heavy one. Then they here this BOOOM!!! They were sure it was in their house. They waited 10 minutes, as the security says, and went out for their surprise: the RAKETA (type of missile) exploded on top of their roof, all pieces of it landed on their roof and NO DAMAGE AT ALL!!!!
