Hi I am writing to you from the grave (CALM DOWN THIS IS POETIC LICENSE) and I have a lot to say.

Firstly I have come to realize that when we look down it is cold, dark, damp and slimy.

Having lived most of my life with two eyes pointed heavenward I realize now it is not the location that counts rather the destination.

You see last night I learnt the following (at a Yud Kislev Farbrengen) we dress in shrouds on Yom Kippur, angelic white, and we scream Boruch Shem (a prayer normally said quietly so as not to make the angles jealous) for abstaining from all pleasures such as food and drink we then can imitate them.

But why on full bellies – in fact we are meant to eat double then what we normally do on Erev Yom Kippur (the day preceding the fast) do we behave angelic but having fasted a whole day and truly reached the pinnacle of human endeavor in communion and unification with Divinity when we say the evening service following Yom Kippur, do we say Boruch Shem quietly???

You see in this a great lesson is to be learnt:

Its not the location, rather the destination!

Going into a holy day we are holy, leaving a holy day we are unholy.

So it’s not where, with whom, or what your circumstances are that define you; rather where, with whom, and in what circumstances you wish to be that does.
