Hi Good Shabbos!

Once again the Rebbe in his address (5752) on this week’s Parshah, redefines and clarifies a new paradigm, on how one should live!

Without belaboring the very sophisticated and lengthily talk, here are the bottom lines:

There can be two approaches a Jew takes to his mission of spreading values – to be “A Light Onto the Nations!” – within these final moments, just before the complete redemption arrives!

The first is as Haman – which on a minor level refers not to idolatry God-forbid, rather, to any type of bowing to mannerisms, cultural norms, lifestyles; which are contrary to the spirit of a Jew – hence the Haman approach is, we are by God’s decree, stuck amongst the nations of the world and furthermore in certain aspects, by God’s decree we must follow their laws (such as the monetary laws of a country, as long as it doesn’t conflict with Jewish law – as is well known, that the Jewish law is that we follow the contractual obligations, terms and ethics of the business community in the country we live) In other words, the Jew takes a Galus approach – a sense of subservience, while maintaining his own values.

The second approach, is the Mordechai (and Yehudah even more so) approach: A Jew being connected to God, the ruler of heaven and earth, shines light! – though he works within, he is not limited by the bounds, norms, cultural vicissitudes (and certainly immoral practices) of the culture he finds himself within!

It is specifically this latter approach – which the Rebbe teaches – now as we stand poised at the threshold of redemption, is not only a possibility (for in the past, Jews were severely restricted in terms of being a light onto the nation etc.) but the world, is quite simply, EAGER AND WAITING FOR THE JEW TO BE A LIGHT!

Furthermore, by shining a light, this in turn actually brings the Moshiach!

Additionally this week (Sunday) is Hei (the 5th) of Teves – the day in which Jewish books were returned to the Rebbes library, based on a Federal Court Decision (in the U.S.) Unfortunately, a treasure trove of Torah books, remains incarcerated within Russia (having been stolen from the Previous Rebbes) As Jews we need – for every Jewish book adds to our knowledge – as the Torah sometimes is terse in one area, but broad in another – so we need these books back! – Spiritually, the Rebbe advises, by purchasing, distributing and selling, hence adding to every Jew’s existing treasure trove of Jewish books, we hence hasten the release of these books and the – most importantly – return of all sparks of Divinity through the world and we all (together with those books) return on clouds from God instantaneously; to the third and everlasting Holy Temple!!
